  • The journal is published 8 times a year and is directed to the needs of the elementary/middle school teacher involved in the teaching of science. Involves editing, writing, photography, illustration, layout, research, and  author and review dialogues.

Grants and Projects
  • Numerous grants and projects are supported and administered by staff within the NSTA Publications Division. Examples of materials produced in 1996-97 include The Science of HIV, supported by Abbott Laboratories (Nominated for an Emmy); a Global Environmental Change series supported by the Environmental Protection Agency; Water Matters, a series of posters on water issues supported by the U.S. Geological Survey, A Pathways series of books, and a series of energy related posters both sponsored in part by the EXXON Corporation, and Decisions, Based on Science supported by the American Petroleum Institute. Classroom activities were prepared for the television series Newton’s Apple by the marketing department. Additional projects:
